Why Nepro
Pakistan's #1 PPRC Pipe Brand
Not every green or blue pipe on the market is built to the same standard. Here's what separates Nepro PP-R Type 3 from locally manufactured brands — and why plumbers, developers, and engineers across Pakistan specify Nepro by name.
Three Core Differentiators
What Makes Nepro Different
Nepro's PPRC advantage isn't marketing — it's measurable, visible, and physical. Every Nepro fitting is built on three non-negotiable quality inputs that locally manufactured brands routinely compromise on to cut cost.
Imported Grade 59 Brass Inserts
Every Nepro threaded fitting uses imported Grade 59 brass — the specified alloy for pressurised plumbing. Local brands typically fit recycled, non-graded brass that cracks under thread tension and corrodes over time. Our inserts are unbreakable under normal installation torque.
Virgin PP-R Type 3 Raw Material
Nepro uses virgin PP-R Type 3 copolymer rated for 70°C continuous hot-water service. Local brands commonly blend recycled plastic to lower cost, which reduces impact strength, long-term pressure resistance, and service life.
True International Wall Thickness
Nepro pipes meet the full wall thickness that corresponds to their printed pressure class. A fitting marked PN-25 is physically PN-25. Many local brands print "PN-25" on fittings whose actual wall thickness only meets PN-16 — a silent downgrade the installer never sees.
Nepro vs Local Brands
The Difference You Can See
Pictured below: Nepro fittings (blue) alongside leading locally manufactured PPRC fittings (green). Same stated size. Same stated pressure rating. Very different build.

Same Marking, Different Reality
Both fittings are stamped PN-25 at Ø25mm. The Nepro fitting (right) has visibly thicker walls and a heavier, denser mould. The local brand (left) is lighter and thinner — closer to a PN-16 fitting with PN-25 printed on it.

Pressure Rating Transparency
Nepro's reducer (right) is marked clearly as PN-25. The local brand's reducer (left) is marked PN-10 — a lower pressure rating. Nepro gives you the full pressure-class range so you can specify correctly.

Grade 59 Brass vs Recycled Brass
The Nepro insert (right, blue housing) is imported Grade 59 brass — polished, uniform, and dimensionally true. The local brand's insert (left) uses recycled brass of unspecified grade, prone to cracking at the thread.

Valve Internals Built to Last
Nepro's brass valve stem (left) is forged from thicker, denser imported brass with a heavier handle assembly. The local brand (right) uses a lighter stem — more flex, faster wear on the gland seal.

Clean Moulding, No Seams
Nepro's union (right) has clean, consistent mould ribs with no visible stress lines. The local brand's union (left) shows an uneven moulding seam — a weak point that can fail under thermal cycling.

Every Fitting is Traceable
Every Nepro fitting is embossed with the Nepro ring logo, size, pressure class, and PP-R Type-3 designation. You and your client can verify authenticity on-site.
The Hidden Cost of Local Brands
What Happens When Specs Don't Match the Print
A PPRC pipe network is buried behind walls, under floor slabs, and inside concealed shafts. When a fitting fails, the repair isn't a fitting swap — it's chipping walls, replacing tiles, and tenant disruption. Below: real failures from locally manufactured fittings installed in the field.

Recycled Brass, No Grade Control
This locally manufactured fitting's brass insert fractured along the thread under normal installation torque. Recycled brass without a verified grade cannot handle the stress a Grade 59 insert absorbs.

Marked PN-25, Built Like PN-16
This installed locally manufactured pipe cracked along its length after commissioning. The wall thickness did not match the printed PN rating — a hidden downgrade that turns into a leak once the system is pressurised.

| Specification | Nepro PP-R Type 3 | Typical Local Brand |
|---|---|---|
| Brass Insert Material | Imported Grade 59 brass | Recycled brass, no grade specified |
| Insert Behaviour Under Torque | Does not crack under normal installation | Commonly fractures at the thread |
| Plastic Raw Material | Virgin PP-R Type 3 copolymer | Often blended with recycled plastic |
| Wall Thickness | Matches printed PN rating (true PN-25) | PN-25 printed, PN-16 actual wall |
| Quality Certification | ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV Austria), UKAS QMS | Rarely certified or verifiable |
| National Standard Approval | PSQCA-approved, Pakistan Standards | Varies — not always compliant |
| Logo & Spec Traceability on Fitting | Nepro ring logo, size, PN, Type-3 embossed | Inconsistent — printed only, often faded |
| Suitable for Concealed Installation | Yes — designed for 50-year service life | High risk — hidden failures cost 10× to repair |
